Killzone 2 for PS3. It's direct competition to Halo 3.
Maybe they wanted to wait till after E3, but since the secret got out early, they put it into affect now, so it wouldn't stop PS3 sales of people waiting for the price drop. Who knows, just a theory but if it's true that some retailers are already selling it at $499.00
While $499 is still alot, if Sony impresses at E3, with Killzone 2 and hopefully some other surprises, it might just help PS3 hang in this year. That's about all they can hope for.

For them to say that 80% chance MGS4 luanches at the same time for XBOX 360. If that happens PS3 is dead, plain and simple. There would be no need for Sony to even have an E3.

I still believe there will be a PS3 price cut probably at E3. Most people expect it.
It's right after the week of E3 also. There's been rumors of an announced Price cut during E3. So this would make perfect sense. The majority of experts do believe there will be a PS3 price cut. So my bet is this is not just a Circuit City sale.

They probably aren't in the US, They probably feel they can still outsell PS3, especially since they have Halo 3. But who knows.
Namco is one of those Japanese companies that isn't showing faith in PS3 at all. Alteast Capcom is still multi platform just to max out game sales. Namco doesn't even have that excuse, they are just in love with 360.

But it still makes a difference, 100 buck is 100 bucks. Now it doesn't cost that much more than the Elite. Of course the big question is will XBOX 360 cut prices also.

The graphics aren't impressive enough for this new gen. GTA series while very good didn't have the best graphics last gen.
